Hey, everyone!
I’m excited to share a project that I’ve been working on for the past few months. It’s a digital cookbook with all of my recipes.
First, a quick background story. I’ve always wanted to publish a cookbook, and about a year and a half ago I reached out to a book agent to start learning about the process. Long story short— I was denied. They said that I didn’t have enough of a social media following to make it compelling to a publisher. I considered self-publishing, but it’s quite hard with cookbooks because of the additional requirements needed to print a high-quality book with photos. I also thought about publishing a PDF-style e-book, but I personally don’t find that format to be super useful.
I started thinking about other options, and ultimately that led me down a path of thinking about what a digital-native cookbook might look like. Since I couldn’t rely on a publisher to help me get a book out there, maybe I could find cool ways to use the internet to do it myself.
The end result is myles.cooking, a website that I built with the idea of creating a modern, digital cookbook.
So what does that mean?
No ads. So many recipe sites today are unusable because of the sheer amount of ads they try to squeeze in.
No long strings of text that optimize for SEO. We’ve all experienced this on recipe sites— I’ve just included some useful notes on each recipe, ingredients, process, and photos.
Access on all devices. I built the site on Ghost, so it’s a really clean and beautiful UI that’s equally optimized for desktop or mobile.
Pay once and get access forever— just like you would with a cookbook. Most recipe sites support themselves with ads, which ruins the experience. Here you can buy once and get ad-free access for good.
A custom AI chatbot for suggestions and feedback. This is my favorite feature of the site, since it’s something that’s only possible with the digital format. I leveraged Delphi AI to build a custom AI chatbot that’s been training on everything I’ve ever published online. You can use it to get recipe suggestions, ask for feedback, ask about ingredient substitutions, and more— all in real time.
All recipes are organized by categories (meat, fish, vegetables, etc), plus additional categories for things like simple meals and meal prep. So you can quickly and easily find something to cook based on your preferences and mood.
My goal with this site is to provide a resource to help you cook simple, healthy, and delicious meals as easily as possible. If you’ve followed this newsletter for a while, you’ll see several recipes I’ve previously published here (though the new site makes them much easier to find and access). But I’ve also included a bunch of new recipes and will continue to add more in the future (including a few from my recent trip to Italy).
You can find a link to the site here and learn a bit more about how it all works at this link.
Let me know if you have any questions and please feel free to share feedback!

Dope, Myles! Congrats!
I would have bought your published book, but I really love this idea and love that you found something that is beneficial for how you want to get your work out there! Can’t wait to check it out.
