Hey, everyone!
If you’re getting this email, it’s because you’re on the paid tier of this newsletter. And if you are, many thanks for your support!
Recently I’ve been thinking a lot about how I can make sure that paid subscribers really feel like they’re getting value out of the newsletter. I’ve experimented with a few different models for the paid tier in the past, but just offering a generic promise of “extra content” didn’t feel specific enough.
Well I’m happy to say that after a lot of brainstorming, I’ve landed on some things that I’m quite excited about, and I hope you will be too!
If you have any additional ideas for things you’d like to see here, just reply to this email. I’d love to hear them!
Moving forward, here’s what the paid tier will include:
Exclusive Content
I’m going to put together more exclusive content for paid subscribers. This will mostly take the form of detailed guides and breakdowns— in-depth content that goes above and beyond the things I share on a weekly basis.
The first will be a multi-part guide to charcoal grilling, which will cover how to pick a grill, equipment, charcoal types, grilling techniques, and more.
If there’s any specific topic you’d like for me to cover in-depth, please shoot me an email and let me know!
Monthly Bonus Recipe
I’ve tried to make sure that this newsletter has a mix of content types— recipes, guides, technique breakdowns, and more. But sometimes I’ll go a while without actually sharing a recipe. Not anymore! Now all paid subscribers will get an exclusive monthly recipe, so you’ll always have something good to cook up.
City Guides
This is something I’m super excited to introduce to the newsletter. Over the years I’ve put together little guides to cities I’ve visited or lived in— things like restaurants, coffee shops, bars, and markets that I recommend.
I’ve shared these privately with friends, but I think they’ll be a fun perk for paid subscribers. I’ll share them as a post, along with a link to a Google map that has all of the places in it for easy navigation. I’ll start with guides for Austin, TX and Mexico City in the next couple weeks, with new ones added after that!
Monthly Links and Recommendations
I’ve consistently gotten feedback from people that they really enjoy the monthly round-up posts that I do. I’m now going to do an additional post every month for paid subscribers with cool links to check out and products I recommend.
The first of these is below! Enjoy!
